Ancient Truths for Modern Times

Good Morning!

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! 16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our zreport? 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

After seeing the causes of Israel's rejection in the beginning of the chapter that would lead one to ask the question Paul asks; what is the remedy? How will they believe? The truth and the reality of why someone believes in Christ, why someone becomes saved is through the hearing of the Word of God! In recent times churches have begun to replace this most important truth with activities and social functions, lighting, charismatic preaching, watering down of the Gospel, rejection of undeniable doctrines, etc. that have begun to diminsh the church to nothing more than a Sunday social when it is only through the powerful preaching and teaching of the Word of God that changes the hearts of men! This is not to say that we should not be adapting in a changing world and culture. Through Covid we have harnessed the power of outreach through technology with online services and teaching podcasts that have been an abundant blessing and reached people we never could have reached before, but notice what has made these adaptations successful; they were used as mediums for the spreading of God's Word! My friends, there is no replacement to the Word that will still create true disciples for Christ, so as you go about the remainder of your week do not waste an oppurtunity to share the Word!

With Love and Hope,

Pastor Zack
